Wedding is a celebration of the most important day of your life. It should be a happy event regardless of your budget. It is a gathering of your family and friends, people that are close to your heart to join you in the celebrating your big day!
There are many cost effective ways to plan a wedding:
Bridal Wear & Formal Wear – Hire them instead of buying
Limit your bridesmaid to one and one flower girl
Wedding rings – lots of options and prices within your budget to choose from.
- Wedding Invitations – most household has a computer these days and all you need is a bit of creativity. There are lots of simple yet elegant looking invitations that you can easily create using some beautiful cardstock and translucent paper tied with a ribbon same colour as the motif of your wedding. Attend a card making class to get some ideas if you are not doing it yet.
- Wedding bouquet – from a single long stem orchid/roses/lily’s to a beautiful bouquet the possibilities are endless and it doesn’t have to cost mega bucks.
- Photographers – commonly used are disposable cameras few in each table or ask friends with digital cameras to share the photos they took and they will be more than happy to do it – that’s what friends are for! The budget wedding I organized, we found a photographer that was happy to take photos, we paid for the film and his time and the couple developed the photos themselves.
- Wedding cake – bake your own or ask someone you know. We bought ours at the cheese cake company and decorated it with fresh roses it looks beautiful and everyone enjoyed it.
Put more of your budget in planning for your food. After all a celebration is not a celebration without the abundance of food and drink. Nothing is more appealing than filling an empty stomach. People are happy when their needs are taken cared of and nothing beats the good food. Buffet style is best as some eat less and meaning there is more for those that have a big appetite. Have the cake as a dessert on its own or add few extras.
People will talk less about how gorgeous you were, how beautiful was your gown or your decorations but one thing for sure they will never forget is how they enjoy the food, how relaxed and happy they were.
A great and successful celebration is seeing that your guests are truly enjoying themselves and are happy celebrating with you on your big day! When everyone is happy that makes you happy!
What is celebration mean to you? What is most important? How you celebrate your big day is uniquely your own and great celebrations doesn’t have to cost a fortune…
Have a Fantastic Day!
